Tribute & Message From The Family

Delphine Siekiera, age 85 of Warren, died Monday, February 25, 2019 at Ascension St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital at their Warren Campus. She was born January 22, 1934 in Detroit, daughter of the late Stanley and the late Anna (nee: Klack) Kuk.

Filling the role as bookkeeper for an insurance company, Delphine truly enjoyed her career and the many folks she was blessed to engage with each day, both workmates and customers alike. Being very detailed and organized, she kept records like no other as she took considerable pride in her work.

When she was able to find some time for a little fun, Delphine could often be found feeding her gambling jones,…either at the Bingo Hall or a local casino. Whether she was tuned into the numbers caller while populating her bingo card, or giving the One-Armed Bandits a workout in hopes of a huge payout, she surely enjoyed the thrill of the games and giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money. There was just something unique and special about the environment as well that Delphine found immensely attracting. From more of her competitive spirit came her love of bowling, a sport and activity that was as much fun as it was challenging. A great way to share the bonds of friendship and muster up a bunch of laughs, Delphine could roll 'em like a pro and tame the alleys with her own brand of sportsmanship.

And nothing says "fun" quite like getting a cadre of women together for a bit of "Girl Time,"…and Delphine knew that all-too-well as she relished those moments, especially when sharing them with her sisters and treasured lady friends. Some great stories and times were enjoyed over the years as the bonds of friendship grew deeper and more profound. Delphine and her entourage managed to create a plethora of wonderful memories that each of them coveted immeasurably. Another of her favorites was imbibing on a nice, ice-cold beer…or two. From the bowling alley, to a night out with the girls, or maybe just relaxing at home, a bottle or can of her preferred choice, "Natural Light" was often the elixir of the gods.

As for an entirely different pastime, Delphine was renowned for her gardening skills and the attention paid to nurturing its growth. With the green thumb and tender-loving-care of a horticulturalist, Delphine poured her heart into making her garden a thing of beauty for all to enjoy. But even more than the flowers in her garden, Delphine nurtured something much more special,…the hearts and lives of her two precious grandchildren, Katie & Nick. Being a woman whose life was filled with so many treasured moments and memories, some of the greatest she knew were the ones spent with Katie & Nick. They were always the light of her life, and their coming together would produce a glow in her face like sunshine from Heaven.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Delphine was a simple lady with simple pleasures,…and a heart as big as the moon. She would do anything for anybody and always reached out with the heart of a servant, never seeking anything in return. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven, and now enjoys the rewards she has earned on the other side. Though she will be missed by all who were touched by her love, that love now awaits the blessed reunions as they join her…one by one.

Delphine was the beloved wife of the late Edmund. Dear mother of Julie (David) Sheeran. Cherished grandmother of Katie and Nick Sheeran. Loving companion of Harry Crane and family. Sister of Lillian Smith, Lucille Ruzylo, Florence Mika, Stanley Kuk, Lorraine Gawronski, and the late Eleanor Kuk, Harry Kuk, Anna Ouimette, and Stella Ornalik. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Delphine will be held Thursday, February 28th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren.

She will lie in state on Friday from 9:30 am until time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Louise Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Road, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127.
