Alana Royce Dayne, age 75, died Friday, January 18, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Alana was born September 24, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Balzer and the late Mildred (nee: Manalovich) Balzer.

Alana was raised in Pittsburgh where she also graduated high school. Following graduation, she worked various jobs until ultimately becoming the owner of her own woman's clothing store by the name of "London Lady."

Alana would marry in Pittsburgh and raise her two children, and later divorce. As she was making her way in life as a single mother of two, Alana was eventually introduced to a man from Michigan through a mutual friend. The couple attended a wedding together and a new relationship was born, one they shared until Alana and James Dayne married in 1981.

Alana continued working primarily in collections and administration. Her last job was held with Prairie Farms Dairy, where she handled collections and office administration until her retirement.

When Alana was not busy at work, she enjoyed long walks taking in nature, along with tending to her flowers in the garden. She was a HUGE Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan and never forgot her hometown city. Alana enjoyed trying her hand at "Ol' Lady Luck," occasionally visiting the casinos with her husband. However, Alana took her greatest joy in seeing her grandchildren grow and become young adults. She cherished her time spent with her four grandchildren along with the many family celebrations. She will forever be missed by all her family members and friends.

Alana was the beloved wife of James Dayne, and was the loving mother of Joanne (David) Dare, and Jeffrey (Wendy) Sysak. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew, Jessica, Stephanie, Ameilia, and dear sister of Marsha (Daniel) Griffin, and the late Joseph Balzer. She is further survived by her sister in-law, Janet Balzer and many dear family members and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Dayne will be held Friday, January 25th from 5-8 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Mrs. Dayne will lie in state on Saturday, 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church – St. Clement Campus in Center Line. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Robert Bauer.
