Heart Emblem

Barbara Dawn Macaluso, age 87 of Farmington Hills, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital – Botsford Campus in Farmington Hills.

She was born November 16, 1930 in Plymouth, Michigan, daughter of the late William and the late Elsie (nee: Hampton) Bailey.

An old world homemaker and Mom, Barbara was the consummate caregiver,…not only to her family, but to all with whom she came into contact. She possessed all the traditional skills and talents that women of her day were brought up on, skills that helped to make for a happy and efficient homestead. And like many of her counterparts out there, Barbara had some "mad skills" when it came to the magic she often performed in the kitchen. Of the many tasty treats she produced, perhaps most famous and notable will be memories of her delicious Zucchini Breads that she baked and shared with family and friends alike. And oh,…let's not forget those delectable little morsels of hers, those cookies that would make your eyes roll back in your head with delight. Got Milk?

To many, memories of Barbara will also quicken the youthful spirit she possessed. Age bore no barrier for this vibrant woman. Even into her 80's she was joining the gang down at the bowling alley to roll a few balls in search of that elusive 300 game. It may not have been 300, but Barbara quite proud and confident in her bowling prowess as she was still racking up games in the 200's in her 80's,…some may say, perhaps, with the help of a few cocktails or so. As for something more home-central, Barbara loved playing card games with friends and family, her favorites being the games of Pinochle and Hand & Foot Canasta. There was always something special about gathering loved ones around the card table, tossin' a few cards, and engaging in friendly competition and conversation. It always made for a great time and awesome memories.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara found great enjoyment in doting on her precious loved ones and doing what she could for their happiness. From all that was woven into the fabric of her soul, Barbara leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love and care to be embraced with each reflection shared. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey through life and will be missed immensely. Rest in peace, dear one.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Dewayne Laroy Lee "Bud". Dear mother of John (Deborah) Lee, Tana (James) Reid, Scott Kellar, and the late Mark Lee. Loving grandmother of Danny, Ricky, Justin, Michael, Sarah, Jeremy, Tyler, and great-grandmother of Isabella Lee, Evalyn Lee, and Jay Lee Javens. She is also survived by siblings, June Slusarski, Bill (Teresa) Bailey, Jack (Carolyn) Bailey, and Racena Fischer. She leaves many loving nieces, nephews & their families.

A Memorial Service for Barbara will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2nd at the Oakland Community Church, 37150 W. 8 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, Michigan 48335.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
