Betty Jean Valenti, age 85 of Warren, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. She was born in Carnegie, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1933, daughter of the late Richard and the late Ada (nee: Pullan) Chesstnutt.

Betty met John, better known to all as Curly, at a dance hall. The two dated for a few years before ultimately sharing their vows of marriage in 1956. Betty and Curly welcomed three beautiful children into the world and were the proud parents of Mark, Sandra, and James.

While busy raising a house full of kids, Betty still maintained her position as a bookkeeper for a Doctor's office. She loved her job and the many great friends she made throughout her years there. She was excellent on the adding machine, and simply enjoyed all the aspects of the bookkeeping realm. Even while laying in her hospital bed, Betty was still balancing her checkbook.

Betty loved many things, with her love of margaritas topping the list. But they had to be of the frozen, slushy variety,...and always with a salt-rimmed glass. She also loved her TV time with some of her favorites including the Lifetime Network, the show "Say Yes to the Dress," and the penultimate classic, "Wheel of Fortune." Betty will also be remembered for her "passion with puzzles." While she was working on her puzzles, Betty would often be soothed by the iconic sounds & music of Tom Jones, an absolute favorite of hers. For years, Betty enjoyed putting her creative side to work through the art of cross stitch and created over 30 pieces that can now be found hanging throughout her home. She was also quite the gambler and found great enjoyment in giving luck a chance. Whether through the fun on those "One-Armed Bandits" or playing the Michigan Lottery, Betty always had a plan if she struck it big!

Betty was the beloved wife of the late John "Curly". Dear mother of Mark (Alane) Valenti, Sandra (Denny) Parsons, and James Valenti. Loving nana of Kristen (Kevin) Horak, Stephen (Kirby) Valenti, Kevin (Jessica) Parsons, and Jonathon Parsons. Cherished great-grandmother of Hailey, Avery, Brody, and Eleanore. She was also a treasured aunt to many.

A Memorial Visitation for Betty will be held on Sunday, April 14th from 11:00 am until the time of her Eulogy Service at 2:00 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.

Memorial donations are welcomed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. (www.stjude.org)
