Betty Lou Evans, age 88, died Friday, January 18, 2019 at home. Betty was born May 18, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan,. daughter of the late Harold and the late Fern Viola (nee: Skeels) Darling. To Betty's misfortune, her mother passed away when she was just 3 years old,...and then tragedy struck again when her father died at just 4 years of age.

Following the death of her parents, Betty and her brothers would move in to their grandparents home in Mio, Michigan. Betty attended Mio High School through her junior year. In her senior year she transferred to and graduated from Arthur Miller High School in Saginaw.

Shortly after her graduation from High School, Betty would move south to Detroit. Living on her own, she found work in the city of Detroit at a bank. On one fateful night Betty decided to head out on the town to a local bar. While there her path would cross with a young Charles Evans who was recently discharged from the military. Both Betty and Charles were supposed to be there with other people, but fate intervened. The two would start a courtship and ultimately marry on September 21, 1957. Following their marriage they resided in Madison Heights, but would eventually relocate to Berkley. The two would welcome 6 children into their family.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late Charles. Loving mother of Terry (Val) Darling, Debbie (Mike) Souchereau, Anna (the late Tom) Briggs, Tina (Jerry) Duke, Linda (Dwayne) Hertz, and Jennifer (Jason) MacKinnon. Devoted grandmother of 20, great-grandmother of 31, great-great grandmother of 2., and was also survived by several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Betty will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd from 3-9 pm, with a 5:00 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
