Betty Sue Chaffins, "Subie", age 84 of Clinton Township, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Subie was born on September 24, 1934 in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Curtis and the late Alma (nee: Tackett) Slone.

As shared by her loved ones; "our Subie will always be remembered for being a beautiful, loving and funny woman. She was lucky enough to marry her sweetheart and their love was the strongest we've known throughout their 59 years together. She was a proud hillbilly,…queen of the slot machines,…and a dead shot with a shoe! She was warmly accepting of her family and their loved ones, and loved them fiercely in return. Her warmth and laughter will never be forgotten."

Betty Sue was the beloved wife of the late Jimmie Ray. Dearest mother of Brian (Debra) Chaffins, Terena Sue (Don) Blackman, and Kelly Sue (Jim) Grimes. Loving grandmother of Heather, Jennifer, Tristan, Brittney Jean, Fellicia, and great-grandmother of Christopher, Zoe, Paige, Ella, and Gavin. Cherished sister of Jean, Terena Lou, Jack, and treasured aunt to Jim, Scott, and Terry Lynn.

Visitation for Mrs. Chaffins will be held Thursday, January 31st from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.

Her Funeral Services will take place on Friday, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Mrs. Chaffins will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery where she will join her beloved Jimmie who preceded her in death in 2011.

Please share memories of Subie at her guest book above.
