Bruno Bellini, age 79 of Warren, died Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility's Respiratory Unit in Warren, Michigan. He was born June 1, 1938 in Detroit, son of the late Nick and the late Mary (nee: Bertonaschi) Bellini.

In sharing this short story of Bruno, the most important & fitting tribute would have to be the incredibly immense love he held for his family. To be sure, most all of us love our families,…but Bruno definitely took it up a notch. Just like the chef, Emeril LaGasse,…Bruno put his own style of "BAM" into the love he poured upon the hearts and souls of the loved ones entrusted to his care. Together with his adoring wife, Barbara, they raised four beautiful boys who have grown to be loving and successful men due, large in part, to Bruno's unique & genuine "art of fatherhood." He was a great mentor who always stressed to his sons the importance of education and preparing for the future,…and each of them have gone on to achieve wonderful academic heights and blossoming careers. Bruno's capacity to love reached back to his parents, as well, and was evident in how he tended to their needs and extended the same devotion as they had shown to him as their child. He was truly a good son who respected the meaning of family,…which simply translated to his life as a husband, father and grandfather. If only this world was filled with a host of Bruno's, what a loving and compassionate planet it would be.

Bruno worked as an auditor for the State of Michigan, a job which he was quite proud and honored to hold. But with numbers on top of numbers filling his head each day, it truly quickened the need for Bruno to seek a little balance in life which he accomplished through the various pastimes he enjoyed. After all, what do we work for, right? So when he was able, one of Bruno's favorite activities was golfing. A sport he enjoyed both in league play or simply with a cadre of his golfing buddies, there was always something special about swingin' the clubs on a sunny day and sharing some great bonding time along the way. Forever in search of that elusive Hole-in-One, his presence at the Maple Lanes Golf Course in Sterling Heights will be sorely missed. Prior to its closing, Bruno was also a familiar face on the tees at Sunnybrook as well.

Another outlet that filled his life was music, a pastime in which Bruno poured the best of his talents and was honored to have shared the stage with such greats and notables as John Trudell and Paul Anka. His musical skills were multi-faceted and included the ability to both sing and play his favorite genre, Jazz. Bruno's earlier days were filled with gigs where he got to show off his talents on the accordion, and he was also quite the accomplished pianist as well. But some of the best jazz he ever played was on the Bass Viol,…an instrument that fit the bill both in sound as well as eye appeal. We all love music, but again…Bruno took it up a notch by becoming part of the music; how cool is that?

It was shared that Bruno was a "very calm and quiet man; hard to anger, and was always there for his family." Possessing a generous spirit that gave often and freely as needed, Bruno was guided by his deep and abiding faith in God and lived out his life as one of God's true servants. So is it any mystery why he was able to love so purely and unconditionally, and leaves such a remarkable and influential imprint on the hearts and souls of the many who were blessed to know this wonderful man?

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bruno walked humbly with his Lord and always did his utmost to be an imitator of Christ's love. Ask anyone who knew Bruno and they will attest to how he truly did so and touched countless lives for the better. He goes on ahead to a place being prepared for us all,…may he, now, rest safely in the arms of God.

Bruno was the beloved husband of Barbara. Dearest father of John (Neomi) Bellini, James (Debra) Bellini, Robert (Jennifer) Bellini, and Michael Bellini. Loving grandfather of Joseph, Emma, Alyssa, Tyler, Elliot, and Dylan.

A Memorial Mass for Bruno will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren. The family welcomes guests for a gathering at church from 10:30 am until time of the Mass at 11:00 am.
