Carol Ann Zmich, age 77, died Saturday, November 11, 2017. Carol was born on December 29, 1939 in Detroit, daughter of the late Francis and the late Emily (nee: Wegienek) Becker. She grew up in Detroit with 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Carol graduated from Dominican High School in 1958 and was invited to join the team at National Bank of Detroit where she worked in the Loan Dept. Carol met her loving and devoted husband, Jim Zmich, in 1965 and it was love at first sight. They were married on June 3, 1967 at Assumption Grotto Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Carol was so elated to have celebrated 50 years of marriage with her loving husband. They shared a bond like no other and experienced many great memories together. He never left her side during all her pain and suffering, and she was truly grateful for his abiding love. He is, and will always be, her hero.

Carol and Jim raised 3 children in Warren where she, then, traded working outside of the house to that as a loving homemaker. She loved to garden, bowl, draw, make crafts and sew. She especially loved sewing gifts for others. She spent many Summers at Sage Lake in Lupton, Michigan. It was a great escape with her family and her "up north" neighbors who were like family as well. She loved boating and nightly campfires. She loved any time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Carol entered eternal life, peacefully, on November 11, 2017 with her loving family at her side. She even reported that she was ready for the Lord to bring her home. Carol was beyond a Warrior! She battled many serious health problems the past 9 ½ years. She never gave up. She fought with all she had so she would be able to enjoy precious time with her family. She kept a smile on her face until the end. She never let cancer interfere with her fighting spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Carol was the beloved wife of James. Loving mother of Karen (Chris) Glugla, Dan (Lynn) Zmich and Debbie (Joe) Fischer. Devoted grandmother of Carley, Faith, Alexis, Carson, Gabriella, Avery, Alexander, Stefanye, Shelbi and Sierra. Dear sister of Nancy Becker, Emily (Tony) Plewa, Donna (David) Bremerkamp, Richard Becker, Norman (Linda) Becker, the late Mary Jane (the late Greg) MacDonald, the late Frank Becker, the late James (the late Denise) Becker. Sister-in-law of Diane Becker, Michael (Marie) Zmich, Mary Ann (Paul) Makar. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Carol will be held Monday, November 13th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren. She will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Twp, 48315.
