Carol Marie Kustarz, age 73, a resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan since 1973, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Carol was born December 6, 1943 in Highland Park, daughter of the late Felix and the late Lottie (nee: Skowron) Nadolski.

Carol was raised in Warren and graduated from Lincoln High School. Following her schooling, she worked as a server at Lochmoor Country Club in Grosse Pointe and later worked as an administrator for State Farm Insurance for 15 years. Eventually, Carol moved from State Farm to the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce as a secretary for ten years, and lastly worked for the Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield Hills for over ten years.

When Carol was not working, she enjoyed eating her meals out at the many restaurants in the area... from the five-star restaurants to the local coney island restaurant. Carol always enjoyed her meals with a view looking out the closest window. Carol's most favorite get-a-way was to visit Traverse City, Michigan. She loved the northern Michigan town and the spectacular water views. Along the way to Traverse City, Carol was never shy to visit the casinos while in route. Also, she loved visiting the casinos in Las Vegas with her husband. It was while in Las Vegas that Carol was fortunate enough to run into many celebrities and get her photo taken with the stars. She had photos with many celebrities from Tony Curtis to Mr. T.

When Carol was home and not working, she could be found shopping at one of the local malls, eating out, all the while enjoying the fine things in life and always appreciating VIP treatment. Further, Carol was thankful for all her blessings, devout in her faith and devoted to her church, SS Cyril & Methodius Slovak Catholic Church. Carol was an active member of Al-Anon and devoted much of her time to helping others in the organization.

Carol cherished her family, her son, siblings, grandchildren, and the many wonderful holidays and celebrations shared with all. Carol would remind her family members to "Bloom where you are planted" and also remember "God does not wear a watch".

Carol was the loving wife of Ken Kustarz and dear mother of Scott (Michelle) Kustarz. She was the cherished grandmother of Kadia, Thaddeus, Merrick, and the beloved sister of Judy (Ed) Dubois, Nancy (the late Tony) Elibri, and Sherry (Larry) Conklin.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, November 12th from 3-9 pm and Monday from 4-9 pm, with 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.

Carol will lie in state on Tuesday from 11am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 12pm at SS. Cyril & Methodius Slovak Catholic Church, 41233 Ryan Rd, Sterling Heights. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Libor Marek. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
