Charles Albert Strackbein, age 76, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 surrounded by his family in Warren, Michigan. Charles was born on September 2, 1941 and was the middle of three sons of the late Chester A. Strackbein and the late Madeline M. (nee: Gunst) Strackbein.

Charles was born and raised in Detroit. Following his graduation from Cass Tech High School, Charles served our country as a sailor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked in the engine room as a Boiler Tech, serving most of his naval career on the Destroyer, the USS Blue DD-744. The skills he garnered from the military, coupled with his love of cars, led him down the path to a long & rewarding career at Chrysler Motors. Charles spent half his career as a Tool & Die Maker, then would finish his employment as a Project Manager in the Pacific Rim. Charles loved to travel associated with his job and was proud of his work accomplishments.

Charles was also known as a jack-of-all trades and there was nothing around the house he couldn't fix. He also was tech savvy and loved computers. He always had the latest technology and would rarely go anywhere without his iPad.

Charles was the beloved husband of 52 years to Patricia Strackbein, and the dear father of Charles Strackbein Jr (Annette Carter), Christopher (Jennifer) Strackbein, Catherine (Michael) Ferro, and Claire (Samuel) Kafoury. He was also the proud & loving Grandfather of Maria, Ava, Julia, Madeline, Grace and Caslynn. Charles is also survived by many other family members and good friends.

Visitation for Mr. Strackbein will be held Tuesday, April 17th from 3-9 pm, with a 7:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren. Mr. Strackbein will lie in state on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of the Funeral Liturgy at 11:30 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica, Michigan. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Roman Pasieczny.

Charles will be laid to rest on Friday, April 27th following an 11:30 am Committal Service, amidst the sacred and hallowed grounds of Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
