Danny Thomas Sypniewski, age 68, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Danny was born September 18, 1949 in Hamtramck, Michigan, son of the late Walter Sypniewski and the late Ann (nee: Kozak) Sypniewski.

Danny was raised in Hamtramck and graduated from Hamtramck High School. Following school, Danny worked various jobs from delivering ice cream to towing vehicles. Danny eventually landed a job with the Udylite Corporation and became a member of the United Auto Workers.

Danny rose through the ranks of UAW Region 1 where he served in many capacities including that of bodyguard for Stephen Yokich, and also as an International Representative for over 20 years. Danny's life truly revolved around the UAW and his fellowship with other members. Whether he was working on behalf of the membership, attending the annual meetings at Black Lake, or just sharing a drink with the fellows members after work, he truly enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow brothers. Danny faithfully served the union for over 30 years.

In retirement, Danny enjoyed golfing and visiting his cottage at Higgins Lake. While up north he attended St. Hubert Catholic Church and was a member of the AMVETS in Higgins Lake. One of Danny's favorite pastimes at Higgins Lake was to take his golf cart and drive down to the memorial marker for some reflection and introspection. While Danny was home he truly kept the home mechanically sound... he could fix anything and will be missed dearly.

Danny was the beloved husband of Marlene Sypniewski, and the dear father of Steven Wallace and Sharon Erison. He was the loving grandfather of Gabrielle and Gavin, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by his dear friend Ken "Red Dog" (Gloria) Terry. Danny was predeceased by his parents and silblings, Walter (Delphine) Sypniewski and Gerald (Frances) Sypniewski.

Visitation for Danny will be held Wednesday, June 27th from 3-9 pm, with a evening Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. He will lie in state on Thursday from 10:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4401 Bart Ave, Warren, MI 48091 .

Please share memories of Danny at his memory book above.
