Darryl Alan Fletcher, age 47 of Roseville, Michigan, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 3,2018. He was born March 9, 1971 in Detroit, son of Mr. James Fletcher and Karen (Lorraine) Fletcher.

In sharing this brief bio of Darryl's life, it would be sadly remiss if not for mentioning that he was blessed to know love a second time when he met the woman who would become his wife, Ms. April Slawinski. So it was, on April 17, 2015 in the Charter Township of Shelby, that Darryl and April were joined in marriage and ventured anew on their journey together as husband & wife. They've enjoyed the past three and a half years building upon the comforts of home & hearth, and sharing the joys of family which was truly at the heart of who Darryl was to all.

For many years, Darryl was part of the retail world and had worked hard to climb the ladder of success, which he did by receiving his promotion to management. After proving himself and setting the stage for leadership, his skills were noticed and duly rewarded in being elevated to the position he worked so hard to achieve. Yet for as hard as Darryl worked, he also liked to play and enjoyed a number of different pastimes and hobbies to balance it all out.

One of these hobbies embodied his joys of collecting, with gold & silver being two of his favorites. He was also a collector of cars,,…yet not merely a collector, but one who also found great pleasure in working on them as well,…especially when he was sharing the experiences with his son, Jordan. Every time these two automobile aficionados started wrenching on their car-du-jour, wonderful memories shared were just moments away,…and what fun they created together as father & son.

For as mechanically inclined as Darryl was, he also had an artistic side that presented itself quite often through his talents in drawing. Put a pencil in Darryl's hand and there was soon to be something spectacular to ensue. With an eye for art and a pencil inspired by the artist within, Darryl managed to produce a portfolio of incredible pieces that have been enjoyed by many.

The Darryl everybody knew was also a person that appreciated the outdoors and taking in the beauty that the Mitten had to offer. There were so many aspects of soaking up that beauty that Darryl enjoyed, but none quite as meaningful as the sport of fishing. Always in search of the "Big One," and being enthralled by the momentary flurries of action that make up the sport of fishing , Darryl never grew tired of those quiet and serene moments, either, as he awaited each potential flurry.

And then there was his Canine Companion, Drake. For all who know the love of an owner for their pet, then Darryl's passion for his furry friend will make perfect sense. It's a love that transcends that which we know as human beings, and it's a love that was poured out with deep affection between both Drake & Darryl alike. As the adage states; "dog's are a man's best friend,"…and together that bond was sincerely shared.

Yet of all he loved and held precious, family reigned supreme for Darryl. With a generous spirit and an unselfish sense of care, Darryl was loved by all who were blessed to know him and would go above and beyond to meet the need of another. He touched a multitude of hearts and souls in his journey this side of Heaven, and will meet the same on one glad day on the other side. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Darryl was the beloved husband of April Fletcher, and cherished father of Jordan (Kayla) Fletcher, Noah Olechowski, Antonio Richard Fletcher, and Jayna Olechowski. Darryl is further survived by his parents, James and Karen (Lorraine) Fletcher; sister, Melissa Riesterer; niece, Sarah Riesterer, nephew, Nicholas Riesterer; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Slawinski; three brothers-in-law, Rich Slawinski, Jason Slawinski and Frank Jocis, sister-in-law, Jennifer Van Til and many dear friends.

Visitation for Darryl will be held Friday, September 7, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road in Warren.

His Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the funeral home with the family receiving guests from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow the Funeral Services at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kaatz Funeral Directors of Richmond, Michigan.
