Delphine A. Kwapik, age 90, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Delphine was born February 2, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Francis and the late Bernice Kowalski.

Delphine was raised in Hamtramck, attended St. Florian Catholic Church, and graduated from Hamtramck High School. She would later go to work for Peoples State Bank in Hamtramck where she worked her way up within the banking industry. Delphine was employed the majority of her adult life, ultimately retiring from First State Bank as a teller supervisor.

Delphine married the love of her life, Ralph J. Kwapik on September 16, 1952 in Hamtramck. The young couple would eventually settle in the burgeoning suburb of Warren, Michigan to raise their children.

When Delphine was not working, she loved to shop and watch sports including all the Detroit teams, especially her beloved Detroit Red Wings. She had a bit of a sweet tooth but was willing to share with her grandchildren. Delphine's simple pleasures in life revolved around her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her many trips to Northern Michigan, either in the summer to Mackinac Island or just north to view the fall color changes... all the while with her family in tow. She also tried to attend many of her grandchildren's sporting and school events that her schedule would allow.

Delphine was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Kwapik, and was the dear mother of Gary (Sue) Kwapik, and Lora (Don) Pomaville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rachel, Jillian, Greg, Brooke, and Jenna. Mrs. Kwapik was predeceased by her siblings, Lucien, Richard "Buggy", Chester, and Eugenia "Jeanie".
