Delphine Margaret Szporka, age 88, died September 27, 2018 at Ascension St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Delphine was born January 21, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Leo G. Hucko and the late Magdalene (nee: Latowski) Hucko.

Delphine was raised in Detroit and graduated from the all girls Catholic Central High School. Following her schooling Delphine worked for several businesses in administration.

Delphine met and later married the love of her life Anthony Szporka, on April 29, 1950. The young couple settled on the eastside of Detroit and four years later welcomed their first daughter Patricia. Mrs. Szporka was a wonderful homemaker and "stay at home" Mom. She cared for her children, kept an immaculately clean home, and always prepared delicious meals. She was always active with her children's activities including their studies, Girls Scouts, and extracurricular functions.

Delphine returned to the workforce in 1969 first as a temp, however later getting a full time position at Milco Manufacturing, a leading full-service supplier of resistance welding equipment in Warren. She continued working within the secretarial and administration area for the company until her retirement in 1989.

While in retirement Delphine and her husband enjoyed visiting all 50 states, traveling to Europe and Italy, and also taking shipboard cruises. Her time spent near home included bowling, Bingo, playing cards with friends, and staying active and faithful to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church where she was a member of the Active Christian Woman's Club.

Delphine was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Szporka and was the dear mother of Pat (Richard) Aquin, Ed (Priscilla) Szporka, and Carol DeDeckere. She was also the loving grandmother of Mark, Calvin, and Brad. Further survivors include her sister Joan (the late Stanley) Popowski, and many dear family members and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Szporka will be held Sunday from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Mrs. Szporka will lie in state Monday 9am until time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Nick Zukowski. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
