Delphine Mary Biernat, age 83, a longtime resident of Warren since 1962, died Sunday December 31, 2017 at the Sanctuary of Fraser Villa Care Facility in Fraser, Michigan.

Delphine was born on January 7, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Morys. Delphine was raised in Hamtramck Michigan and attended St. Florian Catholic grade school and later graduated from Hamtramck High School.

Following her schooling Delphine worked various jobs, from waiting tables to clerical work within the insurance industry. As fate would have it, Delphine would meet the love of her life... a young man by the name of Richard F. Biernat. A romance began and the young couple eventually married January 14, 1956.

Delphine and Richard decided to move to the new and burgeoning community of Warren, Michigan just north of Hamtramck. The young couple had a brand new home built in 1962 and the home would become the center for raising their children.

Delphine was an active member of St. Dorothy Catholic Church and was also actively involved in her children activities while they were young school children. Delphine served as a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout troop, in addition to being a wonderful "Stay at Home" Mom, keeping her home immaculate and also cooking and baking wonderful treats for her family.

After her children were grown she continued to stay active with her church and also returned to the workforce, working within the housekeeping department for Nightengale Nursing Home in Warren. Quiet time for Delphine was spent at home watching Soap Operas or reading. She also cherished her time spent with her Poodles and visiting with her children.

Delphine was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Biernat and was the dear mother of Richard J. (Carol) Biernat, Kenneth (Janet) Biernat, and Karen (David) Brown. She was also the loving grandmother of Jeffrey, Michael, Kevin, Sarah, Joshua, and the late Derek. Delphine was predeceased by her siblings, the late Helen (Henry) Lewalski, the late Stanley Morys, and the late John Morys.

Visitation for Delphine will be held on Thursday from 3-9pm, with an 6:30 pm Rosary service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road).

Delphine will lie in State Friday 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary Our Lady Queen of Families -St. Dorothy site, 12253 Frazho Rd, Warren, Michigan 48089 . Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Robert Bauer. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
