Dennis Charles Rahn, age 75, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dennis was born January 27, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Charles G. Rahn and the late Virginia (nee: Walters) Rahn.

Dennis spent the majority of his life in Oakland County, Michigan and would later serve in the United States Navy attaining the rank of Quarter Master 3rd Class (QM3). He served in the Navy from June 20, 1960 until receiving his Honorable Discharge on November 16, 1963. Dennis last served aboard the USS Tidewater.

Following his military service, Dennis returned to Michigan and found employment with General Motors. Over the years, Dennis worked at the GM Fiero Plant, Fisher Body Group, and Fisher Guide and Trim, working as a fork lift operator. He was a member of UAW Local 5960 from the Orion Assembly Plant.

When Dennis was not working and throughout his retirement years, he could often be found fishing or spending time with his grandchildren. Another of Dennis' passions was enjoyed by using his metal detector in search of treasures, a skill he also used as a metal detector for the Oakland County Search and Recovery Team where he served as a Director.

Quiet time for Dennis was usually spent at home either on the computer, playing video games, sitting in his yard with his faithful dog, Fritz by his side, or sharing time with his grandchildren.

Dennis was the beloved father of the late Dennis Christopher Rahn, and is the cherished grandfather of Caitlin and Charles. Further surviving Dennis is his former wife Carrie Harper, his daughter in-law Sandra Rahn, and his siblings... Donna (Jerry) Denkhaus, Darlene (Brian) Stills, Cheryl (Richard) Irwin, Charise Middleton, and Craig Rahn.

Committal Services for Dennis will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, October 30th at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
