Frances Skowronek, age 95 of Warren, died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at home. Frances was born in Alpena, Michigan on April 3, 1923, daughter of the late Andrew and the late Julia (nee: Kapcia) Andrzejewski.

Born in the coastal city of Alpena, Michigan, Frances was 1 of 12 children who spent their childhood years just northwest of Alpena on a farm in the township of Posen. Along with her responsibilities in school and at home, this little farm girl was a hard worker who grew in stature and matured quickly as she marched through her adolescent years on the way to adulthood. The latter part of that journey became accelerated when she met the man who would sweep her off her feet, the handsome Theophilus Skowronek,…more affectionately known to all as Phil.

Courting turned to romance, and romance melded into love, which led them both to the throngs of marriage and into each others' arms as husband & wife. They shared their "I Do's" on August 31st of 1940, and began their journey together in building upon the comforts of home & hearth and growing deeper in love with each passing day. Frances was a mere 17 years old when she promised herself to Phil, a promise she lovingly kept for the next 72 years until his passing in 2012.

Not long after the newlyweds shared their vows, they decided to pull up stakes and head south to where the opportunities were abounding with jobs galore. They chose Detroit as their new home and planted new stakes there that offered years of joys and pleasures as the blessings of children would fill the air. And blessed they were to welcome two beautiful girls into the world, Julie & Patsy. As time marched on, the family simply grew from there to include 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren,…with one on the way. Betcha they've already met up in Heaven

Frances' first long term employment was experienced at the Kubish Sausage Company where she extended over 35 years of dedicated service and loyalty until the call came for a new opportunity in the Bar Supply Manufacturing business. It is there that Frances would work until finally accepting her well deserved retirement and heading off to her new chapter in life as a Golden Warrior.

Frances was quite proud of her successes in the business world, and of the accomplishments she was so much a part of in her association with both companies. Yet her greatest rewards in life had nothing to do with work, but in the blessings of family. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother ~ many times over, Frances touched countless hearts and souls in her journey through life,…none-so-much as her precious cherubs, her grandchildren. They always brought a sparkle to her eyes, a song to her heart, and the perfect reason to keep pressing on as God added them, one-by-one, to her quiver. She was their biggest fan, their loudest supporter, and the warm smile they always anticipated and enjoyed with each visit to Grandma's. But whether it was Honey, Mom or Grandma, she left her mark and influenced many by her loving lessens, her warm embrace, and a sense of knowing just what you needed when you needed it most. She will be missed beyond expression and loved beyond measure. May God welcome her into His loving arms.

On August 31, 1940, Frances joined her beloved Phil as they promised themselves to each other and enjoyed a 72 year ride of love.

On September 20, 2018, Frances joined her beloved Phil, once again, but this time unto eternity to enjoy God's promises in the joys of Heaven.

Frances was the beloved wife of the late Phil, who preceded her in death on November 9, 2012. She is the loving mother of Julie (Joe) Latorre and Pattie (Danny) Patrona. Frances was the devoted grandmother of Joey (Dawn), Tina (Mike), Tristan (Lisalyn), Phillip (Sherry), Daniel (Jennifer), Nick (Andrea), great-grandmother of Nathan, Owen, Quinton, Morgan, Olivia, Parker, Ella, Carson, Fallon, Jamison, Blake, Brody, and great-great grandmother of Rosie, the twins Dominic & Vincent, Carter, and one on the way. Dear sister-in-law of Maryanne and Sophie Andrzejewski. She was also preceded in death by her 11 siblings.

Visitation for Mrs. Skowronek will be held Monday, September 24th from 3-8 pm, with a 7:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.

She will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
