Ilene Stahlbusch, age 85, passed away peacefully at home in Elgin, Illinois on Monday, April 1, 2019 with her son Tom and daughter-in-law Michelle by her side. Ilene, the eldest child, was born on March 21, 1934 in Detroit to the late Casmir Dobrzelewski and the late Helen (nee: Bruszewska) Dobrzelewski.

Ilene was a proud graduate of Dominican High School in Detroit. In her early years, Ilene went to work for The Bank of the Commonwealth. Little did Ilene know that during her time at this job she would meet the love of her life, Ken.

In 1956, Ilene and Ken tied the knot. The couple decided to grow their family and were blessed with three beautiful children. As their children grew older, Ilene went back to work at local Warren establishments where she enjoyed working with her customers and making sure every single one of them left with a smile!

Ilene was a long-time parishioner of St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Warren. Ken and Ilene became very close to the other parishioners who soon became life-long friends. The group made wonderful memories by going on cruises together, enjoying New Years Eve parties, trips to Casinos, and their yearly church fair.

As the years went by, Ilene enjoyed spending more and more time with her children and grandchildren. Ken and Ilene would make trips to Chicago to visit their son, Tom. On these trips they were constantly meeting new people and making memories along the way. The people they met turned into friends whose company they thoroughly enjoyed and with whom they shared many wonderful vacations.

Ilene's greatest accomplishment, and the one which brought her the most joy, was that of being a mother and grandmother. She truly loved to care for her family and watch them grow into the wonderful beings they are today. She will not only be greatly missed by her family, but also by all who knew her.

Ilene was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Stahlbusch with whom she spent 56 happy years together. She was the loving mother of Lynn (Mike) Borowy, Kenneth (Jan) Stahlbusch, and Thomas (Michelle) Stahlbusch. Cherished grandmother of Alyssa (Ryan) Huffman, the late Nicholas King, and Kenneth Stahlbusch. Ilene was also the devoted great-grandmother of Gabriel Huffman. Dear sister of Pat Dobrzelewski, MaryAnn Dobbs, Sylvia (Ralph) Ziolkowski, and the late Diane (late Rich) Bogdanski. She was also a sister of the heart to Barbara Bart. Treasured aunt to Patrice Bogdanski, Rick (Cathy) Bogdanski, David Bogdanski, Timothy Bogdanski, Paulette (Keith) Maslowski, Matthew Ziolkowski, and Mark (Susie) Ziolkowski whom she loved dearly along with all of their many children.

Visitation for Ilene will be held Friday, April 5th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church - St. Dorothy Campus in Warren. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Please share memories of Ilene in her memory book above.
