Joseph John Deredzinski Jr., age 84, died Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home in Warren surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born February 14, 1932 in Detroit to the late Joseph John and Agnes (nee: Dudek) Deredzinski.

Joseph was born and raised in the city of Detroit and graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School. Following his graduation from high school, Joseph joined the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict.

Upon returning from his military service, Joseph realized that furthering his education was key to achieving his dreams. That led him to enroll at the University of Detroit from where he graduated and received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He spent most of his career working in the finance department for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Following his retirement Joseph continued to work for Children's Hospital of Michigan.

During his time at the university, Joseph was blessed to be set up on a blind date with a beautiful young woman named Patricia. This date would eventually blossom into marriage, a relationship that would last from 1959 until Patricia's death in 2010. This union welcomed three daughters who were truly the apple of their father's eye. He was a loving, sweet and kind husband to his wife,...father to his daughters, and as giving to perfect strangers as well.

Joseph and Patricia enjoyed many trips together in their retirement. Joe was fascinated by airplanes and it was common for he and his family to just drive to a local airport and watch the planes take off and land. His fascination of planes turned into a favorite past time of constructing model airplanes.

Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving father of Laura (Anthony) Majszak, Janet (John) Watycha, and Deborah (Joseph) Toth. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Koncyk, Ryan Awe, Logan Toth, and great-grandfather of Grace, Makenzie and Rylie.

Visitation for joseph will be held Monday, February 6th from 3 -9 pm, with a 7:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. He will lie in state on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church in Warren.
