Joseph Norbert Ziobron, age 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Throughout his life he took advantage of whatever opportunity was presented and always did his best to excel. The military had a big influence on him. He saw it as a chance to see the world and to expand his technical training. He was a proud World War II U. S. Navy Veteran, serving as an Aviation Machinist's Mate – Propeller Specialist, First Class, aboard the aircraft carrier Shangri-La in the Pacific theater. He was an expert carpenter and built 4 houses that he lived in. He worked as a metal model maker at GM Fisher Body at the Warren Tech Center for 27 years.

Family was most important to Joseph and he cherished all the time he could be with them. He loved to share his experiences with family and friends through stories and photos. He enjoyed traveling with his family to national parks, visiting with extended family, hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. He hand-carved and painted over 50 loons for family and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by Mary, his loving wife of 66 years; his 2 brothers, Stanley and Leonard; 2 brothers-in-law, James Polite and Joseph Zaccagni; and his son-in-law, David Piper. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Dolores Polite and Bernadine Zaccagni; his 3 loving daughters, Ann Edwards (Gary), Joyce Muckenthaler, and Debra Piper. He was most proud of his 6 grandchildren, Carly Edwards (Isaac Akwabeng) and Tammy Edwards-Wilson (Heather); Joseph (Danni) and Jeff Muckenthaler; and Eric (Lisa) and Adam (Amanda) Piper. He is the cherished great-grandfather of Orion, River, and Azalea Edwards-Wilson; Henry and Emmett Muckenthaler; Carsen Piper; and foster great-granddaughter, Emmanuela Abena Edwards and many beloved nieces and nephews.
