Joshua Daniel Ormond, age 40 of Warren, died Friday, August 3, 2018 at home. He was born on March 7, 1978 in Quincy, Illinois, son of Daniel Leonard and Toni Deanelle (nee: Myers) Ormond.

Born in the state of Illinois, that is where Joshua began his educational journey where he finished the first chapter of his elementary years. From there, the family's relocation to the state of Maine would find Josh graduating from Westbrook High School in the city of the same name. With his eyes set on furthering his studies, the next chapter took Josh to the prestigious Cornell University, then on to Southern Maine University, where both institutions helped provide him with a deeper sense of the man he was becoming. Though his initial impetus was heading down the path of engineering, Josh's journey became enlightened by his fascination of computers and their immense capabilities. Soon afterwards, things began to change and take on a new and different path,…now with computers as his focus and strong suit. As time went on, Joshua became known as a "Techy,"…a term of endearment for those who are enveloped by all things computer related, and that certainly defined Josh.

For as much as computer knowledge supported what he did at work, Joshua was also quite adept when it came to one of his favorite sources of recreation, Video Gaming. When it was time to escape from the demands of life, Josh always found sweet release each time he logged on to his PC and entered the realm of gaming. He loved the challenges shared with his Dad in the game of chess, but one game stood out among the rest, the "Dark Ages of Camelot." For all of the pleasure and delights he garnered from navigating this specific game, it held a very special and endearing memory for him as playing the game is how he and Jessica met,…and Cupid's arrow took it from there. From that encounter, and subsequent gaming, a friendship grew that transcended to love which led them both to the altar at Church of the Master in Warren. Together they shared their vows of love and became husband & wife in the eyes of family and friends alike on September 20, 2008, a romance that spanned just under 10 years.

Possessing all of that computer knowledge and skill, Joshua ultimately landed a primo position with the computer consulting firm, Stefanini, where he extended the utmost in service excellence to both the company and consumer base alike. Joshua had been a part of the Stefanini Team for 11 years until his unexpected passing.

When he wasn't working, Josh was known for being quite the avid reader. Utilizing a bit of "me time" by curling up with a good book had his name written all over it. Joshua's other passion was enveloped by his love of everything "Star Wars."…especially when it came to the ominous, Darth Vader. To say he was, simply, enthralled would be an understatement. If you needed a go-to-guy for Star Wars trivia, or just somebody who lived & breathed the futuristic saga, Joshua was the Jedi Master! The Force was strong in this one.

If you hung around Joshua long enough, you were bound to catch wind of his infamous moniker, "G.O.A.T."…an acronym he often attached to himself which designated him the "Greatest of All Time." He knew he was the best and wanted all to know of his prominence. Simply stated,…where Josh was concerned, Knowledge + Confidence = GOAT!

Yet truth-be-told, Joshua was known for his generous heart and giving spirit, the kind of guy who loved helping people and put others' needs ahead of his own. To know Josh was to love him as he emanated a joy for life that was both welcoming and contagious, and simply drew you to him. Funny as he was smart, perhaps the trait that will stand above the rest are the warm & wonderful hugs he used to share,…he gave the best hugs!

A baptized believer in our Lord, Jesus Christ, Joshua possessed a deep and abiding faith that guided his path and aided him in being the loving and compassionate man he was to both his family and his dear friends. A loving husband, son, grandson & brother, Joshua lived for every opportunity he was able to share joy, a laugh, or even a tear if necessary. Life was full of incredible moments he was able to create with those he loved along the way, moments he leaves behind to be cherished and embraced with each reflection shared. Joshua leaves us far too soon, but not without imparting the best of himself,…just as he did his whole life long. May he rest in peace, safe in the arms of God.

Joshua was the beloved husband of Jessica Rose. Loving son of Daniel & Toni Ormond, and son-in-law of Doug & Debbie Davis. Treasured grandson of Marilyn Myers and Peggy Coots. Dearest brother of Matthew (Jessica) Ormond, Rebekah Ormond, and brother-in-law of Nicholas Davis and Amanda Davis. Cherished uncle of Dean, Hunter, Gavin, Dylan and Duke. Joshua was preceded in death by grandparents Bernard & Marian Ormond, Earl Myers, Ralph Coots, and nephew, Holland. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation for Joshua will be held Thursday, August 9th from 5-8 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.

His Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor T. Miles Clark. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Memorial donations are welcomed to the family,…or to the American Diabetes Association, 30200 Telegraph Road, Suite 105, Bingham Farms, MI 48025.
