Joyce Ann Zalewski, age 70 of Warren, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, the Macomb Center in Warren. She was born July 5, 1946, daughter of the late Charles and the late Gladys (nee: Johnson) Miramonti.

As a loving homemaker, Joyce tended to the needs of her family with the utmost in tender-loving-care and poured the finest parts of herself into the nurturing of her three precious daughters, Antoinette, Ronda and Romona. Taking care of her family was Joyce's highest priority and provided her life's greatest rewards,…yet life held other pleasures for her as well.

One of these was definitely her passion for all-things-Red Wings. When it came to her Boys in the Winged Wheel, there was no greater fan or supporter than Joyce. The Red Wings, with their iconic history, provided Joyce with countless hours of sporting entertainment over the years. Another of her passions was found in her love of travel. Whether in the company of Jon or on her own, Joyce loved heading out to places of pleasure and sights unseen, and was always looking to add to her travel portfolio. Of all the destinations that left the greatest impression, Mackinac Island was certainly at the top of the list.

Ah,…but there was one other pastime she enjoyed that stood above the rest, her immense passion for antiquing. From the countless garage sales to the antique mother houses of antiques galore, Joyce was driven by the seemingly endless array of collectible treasures she amassed over time. Possessing a voracious appetite for the many trinkets she espied throughout the years, her house is a testament to the great finds that made their way home with her. Her girls hold special memories of the times when their Mom would pile them into her Dodge Omni and head out in search of some more interesting pieces,…and the ride home would often be quite interesting as they were all stuffed in that Omni like a two pound sausage in a one pound skin. But they were coming home with riches untold. Eureka!!!

Yet even more treasured than hockey, traveling or antiquing, Joyce's love and delight for her precious grandchildren meant more than words could possibly express. Being a Grandma was held in the highest regard to Joyce, and it certainly showed. Yet,…whether family or friend, you could count on Joyce's loyalty and be assured of her immense care and concern. In her own unique style, Joyce impacted a vast number of hearts and souls in her journey through life and leaves a legacy of love to be embraced with each reflection shared.

Joyce was the beloved wife of Jon Zalewski. Dear mother of Antoinette Kucharski, Ronda (Daniel) Levene, and Romona Tanceusz. Sister of Charlene Kelly, Peggy Kulczycki, Chuck Miramonti, and Jon Paul Miramonti. Loving grandmother of Emily, Mackenzie, Melody, Holli, and Hunter.

Visitation for Joyce will take place on Thursday, March 16th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
