Judith Evelyn Navarra "Judi", age 78, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Judi was born January 14, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Elroy W. Benn and the late Thelma (nee: MacGuigan) Benn.

Judi was raised in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School. She later married Frank Navarra in 1957 and the young couple settled in Detroit. The couple built a life and a family with children who didn't have parents of their own. They became foster parents to an outstanding 52 children, as well as caring for the needs of many others.

In her early years, Judi worked at the "Dime Store" and later with the Social Security office, but spent her life devoted to her family. Judi helping families and nurturing children became her true calling in life. Judi was known for giving of her heart, her time, and her home freely. The door was always open to those in need. She loved black coffee, fishing, pinochle, bingo, Sanders chocolate, the Detroit Tigers, and her dogs. However her true passion were her children and grandchildren.

Judi was the beloved wife of Frank, and is the dear mother of Bob, Linda, Dee, Larry, Tonia, Dean, Cathie, Mike, Kari and Joe. She is further suvived by her cherished grandchildren Eric, Evan, Rachel, Dana, Abe, Sam, as well as all of the many foster children and youngsters whom she showered with love and support.

Visitation for Mrs. Navarra will be held Tuesday, July 21st from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 10:30am at the Funeral Home. Officiating the services will be Pastor Matthew Trombley.
