June Katherine Kikos, age 91, a longtime resident of Center Line, Michigan, died Monday, June 5, 2018 at home. June was born January 5, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph Kikos and the late Margie (nee: Miller) Kikos.

June was raised in Detroit and later went to work at ACME Painting Company with her sister Dorothy. June worked as a paint mixer and Dorothy as a paint color technician. The two sisters were inseparable and continued to live their entire lives together until Dorothy's death in 2005. June worked for ACME Paint for many years until her retirement in 1971.

While in retirement, June and Dorothy settled in Center Line and were affectionately known to their family members as the "Snoop Sisters". The two seemed to know all of the neighbors business and loved to gossip with each other. Also, June was nicknamed "Whitey" by her family for her pale skin tone.

Throughout her life June never attained her driver's license. Although she tried driving one time and it caused her too much stress and anxiety so she left the driving to other family members. Never being able to drive herself did not prohibit June from traveling. She and her sister would travel to Mackinaw Island annually and also take many day driving trips. In addition to her Northern Michigan travels, June visited Disney World several times.

June cherished her family and her nieces and nephews. She will be forever remembered by her family as a kindhearted, generous soul who always offered up a piece of peppermint candy during a family visit. Quiet time at home usually involved drinking her favorite Pabst Blue Ribbon "PBR" and watching the Lawrence Welk Show or Guy Lombardo on television.

June was the loving sister of Gerald Kikos and the late Dorothy Kikos. June is further survived by her cousin of Shirley (Mario) Amodei, and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for June will be held Friday, June 8th from 10:00 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.).
