Leo Thomas Aretha, age 84, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home in Roseville, Michigan. Leo was born August 7, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Lamdala Aretha and the late Samiey Abdoo.

Leo was raised in a loving Lebanese family on Detroit's westside. He graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic High School where he played sports, and later attended the University of Detroit where he attained his Bachelor's Degree. Following his college education, he entered the United States Army serving honorably for over two years.

Leo worked as a broker and realtor for his entire professional career working mostly alongside his partner at Mackey Realty in Eastpointe, Michigan. He held a passion for his work, and also for his many client friends he met and accrued over the years.

When Leo was not working, he was truly a family man who enjoyed being a "homebody" surrounded by his family and friends. He was also a devout Catholic and Christian who cherished his faith. Leo was a person who would help or do for others without question. He never missed a day of work and never complained. Quiet time for Leo was staying at home and enjoying sports on television.

Leo was the beloved husband of Julia "Judy" Aretha, and the dear father of Michael (Jennifer) Aretha and Jimmy (Jeannie) Aretha. He was also the cherished grandfather of Kyle, Nicole, and Emma. Leo was the dear brother of Margaret Aretha, Larry (Pat) Aretha, the late Bernie, and the late Raymond Aretha. He is also survived by many dear friends.

Visitation for Mr. Aretha will be held Sunday, December 17th from 3-9 pm, with a 4:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. Mr. Aretha will lie in state on Monday from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church (formerly St. Edmund), 14025 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Bogdan Milosz.
