Mary Ann Marsili, age 81, died Monday, April 29, 2019 at Ascension St. John Hospital in Warren, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was born October 20, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Edward Rydzewski and the late Josephine (nee: Zbozien) Rydzewski.

Mary Ann was raised on Detroit's east side in an area known as the "Polish Grosse Pointes". She attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven grade school and later graduated from Dominican Catholic High School. Mary Ann continued her studies at Eastern Michigan University where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Mary Ann began her teaching career educating the youths at Warrendale Elementary School in East Detroit. Mrs. Marsili loved to lead and teach children, however, after marrying in 1959, she and her husband decided it would be best that she become a stay-at-home Mom. After her youngest son reached the 6th grade, Mrs. Marsili returned to substitute teaching where she became the most sought after sub in the Warren Woods District,...both the teachers and students loved Mrs. Marsili.

In 1960, Mrs. Marsili and her family settled into their new home in the burgeoning community of Warren, Michigan where she and her family remained until this day. The family were active members of St. Dorothy Catholic Church and later St. Edmund's, now known as St. Faustina Catholic Church. In addition to keeping her home tidy, food on the table, and raising her children, Mary Ann and her husband were also members of the Booster Club and the Band Booster Club within the Warren Woods School district. She gave of herself to many causes including working the voting polls and volunteering with her daughter's Multiple Sclerosis Support group.

Mary Ann and her husband were known in their community to be friends to many, albeit at church, school, or just in the neighborhood. Mary Ann kept close ties to her childhood group of friends, dubbed the "Bliss Street Polish Girls Club". The extended family friend group included the Sieloff family, the Houghton family, the Hanus family, the Makel family, and many more.

Quiet time for Mrs. Marsili would often find her at home reading her many books, crafting, or cutting coupons and articles for her family to take advantage of. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful, caring woman and educator who gave to others above herself. She cherished her family and adored her grandchildren, and will be forever missed by the many students she taught over the years.

Mrs. Marsili was the beloved wife of Felice (Phil) "Jr.," and dearest mother of Pam Marsili, Mike (Cindy) Marsili, Tony Marsili, and Philip (Julie) Marsili. She was the loving grandmother of Drew, Mandy, Olivia, Emily, and dear sister of Edward Ryder, Donna Henson, and the late Bernadette Krawczyk.

Visitation for Mrs. Marsili will be held Monday, May 6th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Warren (formerly St. Edmund), with Mrs. Marsili lying in state from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 am.
