Michelle DeSchryver Oatley, age 38 of Saint Clair Shores, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 12, 1979 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Julie Ann (nee: Greiner) and the late Thomas Edward DeSchryver,

Michelle was a graduate of the Class of 1997 from Regina High School in Harper Woods. She went on to further her education at Michigan State University, where she graduated with her Masters Degree in Accounting. After graduation, she joined the Deloitte Multistate practice. As a senior manager she created and lead Deloitte's National Multistate Nonprofit tax practice. During her time at Deloitte, Michelle counseled and mentored countless colleagues. No matter how busy she was, she would drop everything to help out a member of her team, whether it was personal or work related. Jared Oatley surprised and proposed to Michelle in Venice, Italy, after she completed a working assignment in India. They married August 10, 2010 at Shanty Creek in Bellaire, Michigan. Michelle and Jared were fortunate to be able to travel to many places in the world and especially loved the times spent in New Orleans and Key West. When not working, Michelle had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed live music, fishing, golfing, gardening and being curled up with a good book.

Michelle is survived by her devoted and loving husband Jared Oatley and her beloved mother Julie DeSchryver. She will be sadly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, Jared's family, and her nephews Cecil, Josiah and Jack. Michelle will be remembered by her friends for her smile, giggle and warm heart.
