Mona Gail Butler, age 61 of Applegate, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Ascension St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. She was born in Detroit on April 3, 1958, daughter of the late of Norman and the late Helen (nee: Tackett) Butler.

Mona's career path was truly meaningful as she chose the field of caregiving to extend her compassionate side, specifically through the realm of group home care. She would eventually climb the ladder of success by attaining the level of Group Home Manager, a promotion of which she was most proud and honored to have achieved. Whatever Mona could do to help somebody in need was certainly at the top of her list, especially those in her care at the group home.

When it comes to animal lovers, their affinities come in many different shapes, sizes and varieties,...and for Mona, it was monkeys. She loved monkeys of all kinds and simply enjoyed being filled with the fun and entertainment they provided. And in taking her adoration to an even higher level, Mona was actually the owner of a live monkey for a period in her life.

Mona is survived by her siblings, Cheryl (Steve) Krausmann and Dana (Linda) Elliott, and was the loving aunt of Cory and Shawna.

A Memorial Visitation for Mona will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 2 pm - 6 pm, with a 5 pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jerry Weinzierl, pastor of Grace Christian Church of Sterling Heights.

Please share memories of Mona at her guest book above.
