Love Emblem

Nanette Marija Reiger, age 56 of Warren, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, She was born April 29, 1961 in Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Nikola Reiger and the late Zlata (nee: Medved) Reiger.

At the young age of 18, Nanette made a unique decision of which few women of her era engaged when she enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Personnel Records Specialist. Ultimately attaining the rank of Private 2nd Class, Nanette served with pride and patriotism until receiving her honorable discharge on February 14, 1980.

Nanette was employed by the automotive giant, the Ford Motor Company where she worked as a skilled laborer and extended the utmost in service excellence until accepting her well-deserved retirement.

Nanette was known for being quite the cook and could whip up a meal that would easily make your mouth water. Just give her a stove and oven and there was bound to be some culinary magic coming out of her kitchen. Mealtime at Nanette's was always a treat. If you left her table hungry, you just weren't tryin'!

When Nanette wasn't working and in need of a little "Me Time," one of her favorite places to visit was the Bingo Hall. From the friendly competition to the enjoyment shared with her fellow gamers, she always managed to have a great time, winner or not. As for a little gaming shared with others, Nanette experienced some great fun and entertainment each time she was involved in a game of cards. Nothing says fun like a bunch of friends around the card table,…a little card dealing,…and the camaraderie shared through conversation, and perhaps a libation as well.

Yet without question, Nanette's love of animals reigned supreme, especially when it came to her feline friends, Peaches & Rigs. She loved her cats and they always brought her immense pleasure simply by affording her that unique escape that only pet owners can know,…and she certainly did.

A loving mother and grandmother, Nanette leaves us far too soon, but not without imparting the best of herself to those she loved and cared for. She was especially proud of her two grandchildren, the cherubs who provided her countless hours of joy and delight. She was a friend to many and leaves a unique and genuine legacy for all to cherish who were blessed to know this wonderful lady. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Nanette was the beloved mother of Brandy (Roger) Bishop; loving grandmother of Roger and Reagan; and dear sister of Nikola Reiger.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
