“SO SORRY, MAY GOD COMFORT YOU DURING THIS TIME ”

Patricia Dolores Fedruk, age 83, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. Patricia was born at home in Hamtramck on January 1, 1935, daughter of the late Anthony and the late Geraldine (nee: Winiarski) Pietrzak.

Born and raised in Hamtramck, Patricia's story of growing up and becoming the wonderful woman she was began by her entering this world at the mere weight of 2 pounds, commonly known as a "primi." Though she was small in stature as a baby, God helped her grow into the strong and amazing woman who was larger than life in so many ways. With the extent of her schooling taking place right there in Hamtramck, Patricia would eventually graduate proudly from Hamtramck High School and begin her journey in life.

Within the next 10 years, Patricia would meet and fall in love with a handsome young man by the name of John, the man who swept her off her feet and, eventually, into the throes of marriage. Patricia was 27 years old when she took that walk down the aisle, at St. Florian Catholic Church, to join her betrothed in the eyes of family and friends alike. The date was July 28, 1962, the day that began their journey together as husband & wife and would last until John's passing on January 3, 2011. It was a love story that spanned over 48 wonderful years. Following their ceremony, the two lovebirds often recalled what a memorable time they spent honeymooning up at Houghton Lake, Michigan.

Patricia and John made their home in Hamtramck, the close knit community that Patricia would reside for most of her life until 2010 when the "golden years" compelled her to make a move. For the first time in her life, Patricia's address bore something other than Hamtramck when she chose the Windemere Park Assisted Living facility in Warren to call home.

Along with raising her boys and tending to the needs of home and hearth, Patricia worked outside of the house as well. Employed by the City of Hamtramck, she was one of the city's friendly Meter Maids and a smiling face that many had come to know throughout her years on the job.

When she managed to find time a little time to herself, a couple of her favorite pastimes included the fun of Bingo and Bowling. Whether she was gathered with a large group of friends and neighbors at a local hall to fill out that infamous card of chance and possibilities,…or with a bit smaller group at the alleys in search of that infamous "300 Game,"…Patricia always enjoyed gathering with others and creating the plethora of memories that she carried throughout her life. Family and friends meant the world to her, and each & every memory shared were some of life's greatest pleasures.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Patricia poured her heart and soul into building upon the comforts of home for her husband and sons, tending to the needs of others with her servant's heart, and leaving behind a legacy of love that will be embraced with each reflection shared. She will truly be missed.

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late John M. who preceded her in death on January 3, 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Michael (Maria) Fedruk and Mark (Lisa) Fedruk; and her three grandcildren; Amanda, Brittany and Tyler. Patricia was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Pietrzak, and her sister, "Honey" Obidzinski.

Visitation for Patricia will be held Wednesday, March 21st from 3-9 pm, with a 6:00 pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren.

She will lie in state Thursday, March 22nd from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 E. Twelve Mile Road in Warren.

Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
