Richard Cameron Kennedy, age 65, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his home in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, after a valiant battle against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy "PSP".

Rick was born March 31, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Alexander Kennedy and the late Marilyn (nee: Vice) Kennedy. Rick graduated from Grosse Pointe's St. Paul Catholic High School in 1970. He attended Eastern Michigan University and Macomb County Community College. Rick worked and retired from Ford Motor Company in 2008.

In his younger years Rick was a true outdoors man and athlete who enjoyed playing sports including baseball, snow skiing, or just being out on the water. He stayed active with his hands as the consummate "Handy Man" or "Mr. Fixit". He loved any project or tinkering with any mechanical device. However his true passion was to be tinkering with his cars. Rick also adored his children and was so proud of their achievements and the adults they had become. His daughter inherited Rick's love of animals and his son inherited Rick's internal toughness.

Rick was the husband of Susanne "Susi" (nee: Mueller) Kennedy, and is also survived by his beloved children, Ricky and Samantha, and their mother, Dawn (nee: Davis) Kennedy; his brother, John Kennedy, sister Ellen (Chris) Stepien. In addition, Rick leaves behind several nieces and nephews and four grand nieces. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander L. Kennedy and Marilynn V. Kennedy (Vice). Also mourning the loss of Rick is his best friend and four legged buddy Buster, his cherished black Labrador.

A special acknowledgement of thanks to Rick's caregivers; Sue, Lexi, and Denyse for their continual commitment to Rick's daily care, their compassion and the love given to Rick in his final days.

Visitation for Rick will be held on Friday. March 23rd from 5-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Officiating the Funeral Services will be Reverend Fr. Jack Baker.
