Robert Gordon Shaw, "Bob," age 70, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren, Michigan. Bob was born December 18, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Roscoe Breckner Shaw and the late Margaret Ann (nee: Cougler) Shaw.

Bob was raised in Detroit and attended both Finney and Osborne High Schools. He later served proudly in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sperry as a Shipfitter Petty Officer 3rd Class. Upon his honorable discharge from the military Bob returned home to Michigan.

Bob worked at Ford Motor Company before settling at the United States Tank Automotive Command in Warren, serving under civilian status for the Department of the Army. Bob worked for the Quality Assurance Deptartment inspecting and testing the M1 Abram tank for TACOM. He retired from the Logistic's Coordination Office after working for TACOM for over 30 years.

When Bob was not working he was passionate about the games of baseball and softball. Over the years he was an ardent fan of the Detroit Tigers and also played in the Tiger's Fantasy Camp alongside some of the great Tiger's veterans. Over the years he won and collected a multitude of trophies from softball teams and tournaments at Liberty Park. He was "The Associates" manager for many years and in 1993 watched as his team competed in the USSSA Men's Class C World Tournament in Las Vegas taking 3rd place. Bob was a "guy's type of guy", a man who enjoyed working hard and playing harder. He cherished competing in all sports and later sharing in beers with teammates and competitors. In addition to baseball and softball, Bob enjoyed playing golf and bowling with friends.

While in his younger years, Bob enjoyed boating with his family and friends and could also engage anyone with a healthy discussion regarding history or politics. He was also a member of the Fr. Kramer Knights of Columbus. Quiet time for Bob at home was usually spent watching sports including the Red Wings or being surrounded by family and grandchildren.

Bob Shaw was the beloved husband of Marsha, and the dear "Fur Father" of Tiffy, and Dad to Michael Frederick and Lisa (Bob) Rabine. He was the loving Grandpa of Michael, Melissa, Joseph, Robert, Genesis, and brother of Joann (Robert) Maynard, and loving Uncle to Scott and Wendy.
