Samuel Lowe, age 80, died Monday, October 16, 2017 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Samuel was born December 12, 1936 in Endicott, Kentucky, son of the late Lacy Lowe and the late Stella (nee: Canada) Lowe.

Samuel was raised in Kentucky and graduated from Prestonsburg High School, a member of the Class of 1957. He would later move to Michigan in search of employment and continued in the field of skilled trades by training at Macomb County Community College in Warren, Michigan.

Samuel gained employment with General Motors where he worked as a Millwright. He was a talented and gifted man with his hands,...capable of building or creating just about anything work-related or at home. Samuel worked at General Motors for 30 years at the Chevrolet Gear and Axle facility, and later worked for the American Axle and Manufacturing facility in Hamtramck. He would eventually return to General Motors where his final years were spent at their Pontiac facility before retiring as a Millwright Leader and member of the Millwrights Local.

When Samuel was not on the job, he could be found at home working on a project or lending a helping hand to his daughter or someone in need. He was a kind and gentle man who was also known as a true "Southern Gentleman." His Kentucky roots never left him. Samuel was a proud lifetime member of the Kentucky Colonels, and the Kentuckians of Michigan Incorporated, working at the park and assisting with the music and sound equipment. He also was an avid Bluegrass Music lover and devoted NASCAR racing fan,...especially when watching his favorite drivers Dale Earnhardt and Dale, Jr.

Mr. Lowe was dedicated to his faith and Jesus Christ, serving at his church, Fellowship General Baptist in Warren, Michigan. Additionally, he was a proud Mason and member of the Center Line Masonic Lodge #550, as well as the Eastern Star. Samuel was honored in 2017 with the Mason of the Year award, an recognition he greatly cherished.

Above all things in his life, Samuel Lowe was a good and kind man who loved the Lord and loved his wife and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never held a grudge. He will be forever missed and cherished by his wife and family.

Samuel Lowe was the beloved husband of Carlotta (nee: Meade) Lowe, and the loving Dad of Melissa King. He was the cherished Grandpa of Willow, and the dear brother of Winston (Mary) Lowe. Mr. Lowe was predeceased by his parents and sibling; Glen Lowe, Elvin Lowe, Anthea Blackburn, Velva Statton, and Lakie May Clark.

Visitation for Samuel will be held on Wednesday, October 18th from 2:30-9pm, with a 7 pm Eastern Star Service & a 7:30 pm Masonic Service, followed by a closing prayer officiated by his Pastor, James Bostic at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held at the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville, Kentucky.
