Sandra Mae Gamrat, age 73, a lifelong resident of the Warren-Center Line area, died Friday, July 6, 2018, at her home in Warren surrounded by her loving family. Sandra was born February 13, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Theodore Shene and the late Mildred (nee: Pollack) Shene.

Sandra was raised in Center Line and graduated from Center Line High School in the class of 1963. She would later meet the love of her life, Joseph Gamrat and the two would later marry on October 16, 1965. The couple later settled into their new home in Warren to start a life and family together.

Sandra worked within the food service industry for over 25 years along with being a wonderful homemaker and caregiver to her children during their upbringing. When she was not working, Sandra and her husband traveled much of the United States for softball tournaments. In addition to their softball tournament traveling, Sandra and her family enjoyed the time spent at their cabin in Grayling, Michigan.

Sandra enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting Las Vegas with her girlfriends where she especially enjoyed playing slots. Sandra was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Edmund Catholic Church since 1969. Her children remembered their mother as a wonderful Mom and a doting grandmother who cherished her time spent with the grandkids. They also have fond memories of her delicious baked goods and wonderful homemade soups. Sandra also loved animals, especially her pet dogs.

Sandra Gamrat was the beloved wife of Joseph C. Gamrat, and dear mother of Gary (Carrie) Gamrat, Gayle (Brett) Hinds, and Joe Gamrat. She was the cherished grandmother of Shane, Collin, Noah, Mackenzie, Sydney, Paige, Joey, Meghan, and sister of Donna (Ed) Jerome, Judy (Howard) Kracht.
