Heart Emblem

Serena Dawn Kisel, age 47 of Center Line, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born September 2, 1970 in Berkeley, California, daughter of the late Karen Lee Kisel.

Though Serena leaves us far too soon, perhaps some comfort can be taken…(provided you're a believer in the Disney movie, "All Dogs Go To Heaven")…by the thought that she is now enjoying all of God's canine companions as she shares with them the joys of Heaven. Serena was a huge lover of dogs and a loving dog owner as well. Given she had no children of her own, her furry friends filled that spot in her heart, brought her immense pleasure, and gave her the opportunity of pouring out the plethora of love she held inside and so often sought to share. Loving dogs is easy because it most always is going to be an unconditional relationship, and Serena provided that kind of home to all of her furr-babies.

For as much as she loved dogs, Serena was also renowned for the adoration she held when it came to children. She had a heart the size of the moon and a desire to share its goodness,…especially when it came to one of God's little ones. Yet whether it was just one or a bunch of them, children loved Serena and she had her own unique way of drawing them unto herself without even trying. There are many little ones out there whose lives were changed and enhanced by the love and care Serena emanated over the years.

Children and dogs stole her heart, but the truth is that Serena's capacity to love reached out to all those who were blessed to know her and with whom she shared life's journey and experiences. In the short time we were fortunate to have her with us, Serena extended a lifetime of joy for all to remember when reflections of her cross their hearts and minds. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Serena was the beloved daughter of the late Karen Lee Kisel. Dearest niece of Mary Anne Kisel and Sandra Zubak. Loving cousin of Nina Greene, Shannon Zubak, and 2nd cousin of Tahlula Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan.

Please share memories of Serena at her memory book above.
