Shirley Anne Modjeski, age 80, died Monday March 19, 2018 at St. John Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Shirley was born August 17, 1937 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late William and Josephine Watt.

Shirley was raised in Detroit and graduated from Commerce High School. Following her schooling Shirley went to work for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Shirley would later marry the love of her life Stanley Modjeski in 1958, and the couple would eventually settle in Warren Michigan.

Shirley decided to leave the workforce and become a "stay at home" Mom to raise her four children. She was a caring and wonderful mother, always there for her children's needs and the caretaker of the home. She was a wonderful cook and cherished the Sunday dinners at her home surrounded by all her family.

Shirley was a selfless person who always put other people's needs before her own. She was not only a caregiver to her children... she also cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The biggest priority and pride in Shirley's life was her family.

Shirley volunteered her time at her church in addition to caring for her family. However when her day was done and it was time to relax, Shirley would take a warm bath and follow up reading one of her many books.

Shirley was the beloved wife of Stanley Modjeski, and she was the dear mother of Stan (Sally) Modjeski, Sandy Bianchi, Deano, Mike Modjeski, and Sharon (Mike) Kroll. She was also the cherished grandmother of Ben, Alexa, Angelea, Alyza, Samantha, Sabrina, Jacob, and great-grandmother of Lukasz, Lucia, Aleyia, and Atalia.

Visitation for Mrs. Modjeski will be Thursday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren. Mrs. Modjeski will lie in state Friday 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass 9:30am at St. Blasé Catholic Community.
