Susanne Anneliese Neumann, age 90 of Sterling Heights, died August 26, 2017 at Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. She was born June 21, 1927 in Plauen, Germany.

For Susanne, being a Mom and homemaker was one of life's most important and precious tasks. Keeping the home-fires stoked with just the right amount of love and care meant the world to her and kept her busy on any given day. But like most of us, she had her own ways of enjoying some of the more personal aspects of life and escaping into a world of personal pleasures that brought her great fulfillment. One of these outlets came in the form of music and helped feed her appetite toward its appreciation. Music filled Susanne's soul and permeated her being to the point where expression was the answer and the listener was the welcomed benefactor. And not merely something for which she enjoyed alone, music is something she shared with her fellow choir mates as well. When you take a group of music professionals, give them some harmonies to blend then turn them loose, there's bound to be an expression that's going to leave both the audience and the performer filled with a sense of awe that only music can bring,…and that is why she sang. It almost compels one to put in the tape of "The Sound of Music"…doesn't it?

Another favorite pastime of Susanne's was enjoyed through her participation in the German Club of which she was a member. Being of German descent, she bore a unique and special interest in the heritage of her birth and the fascinating aspects shared with her fellow club members. Then there was her love for animals. To call Susanne an "animal lover" would be quite the understatement, albeit very true. She absolutely adored our four-legged companions on this sod, especially when it came to the feline of the species, those precious cats. Her furry friends and housemates provided countless hours of fun, warmth and compassion, and lifted her spirits beyond measure.

Yet of all the pleasures life afforded Susanne, nothing could hold a candle to the joys of family,…and there was always something extra-special when it came to her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They may not have been mighty in number, but they certainly were in spirit and in the impact they had upon her heart. It's actually quite interesting when considering,…Susanne had 2 beautiful children, a boy and a girl,…who then produced 2 children, a boy and a girl ~ her grandchildren,…who then produced 2 children, a boy and a girl ~ her great-grandchildren. Pretty cool,…as if it were scripted. And like many grandparent's watching their cherubs grow up, Susanne was quite the doting and supportive Grandma as she stayed on top of all their events and attended as many as she was able. Lucky for Susanne, many were focused within the realm of music as the school band kept her grandchildren busy and in touch with one of life's sweeter pleasures. Evidently that "music gene" ran deep within the family lineage.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Susanne was an inspiration to many and touched a multitude of hearts and souls along her path in life. She leaves a legacy of love that will forever be reflected on fondly with each memory embraced. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Susanne was the beloved wife of the late Guenter. Dear mother of Rose (John) Nassar and Thomas (Tom) Neumann. Loving grandmother of Ryan (Stacy) Nassar, Jennifer Nassar, and great-grandmother of Landon and Olivia.

Visitation for Susanne will be held Wednesday from 2:00-9:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Funeral Service Thursday, 11:00am at the funeral home.
