Wladyslaw Zwolinski "Walter," age 94, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Windemere Assisted Living in Warren, Michigan. Wladyslaw was born July 15, 1922 in Poland which is where he spent his younger years.

During the occupation by the Nazis in Poland during World War II, Wladyslaw was separated from his family and taken to a work camp where he was held for over four years. Upon being liberated from the work camp by the allied forces, Wladyslaw came to the United States for a better life.

Wladyslaw lived in Hamtramck, Michigan and found employment with General Motors in the skilled trades as a pipe fitter. He raised his family in both Hamtramck and Warren, and continued to work for GM until his retirement.

When Wladyslaw was not on the job at the automotive plant, he was home tinkering and working on a project of some kind. Keeping his hands busy was truly his hobby. Wladyslaw could build, fix, or repair just about anything from carpentry to autos.

Wladyslaw's family remembers him as a hardworking family man who cherished his children and could go on and on storytelling for hours. After the death of his cherished daughter, Ursula and his wife, Katherine... time seemed to stop for Wladyslaw, however he will now be reunited in Heaven with his entire family.

Wladyslaw was the beloved husband of the late Katherine and the dear father of Wally (Cynthia) Zwolinski, Gerald Zwolinski, and the late Ursula Zwolinski. He was the loving grandfather of Erika, Kristina, and Alex.

Visitation for Mr. Zwolinski will be held on Sunday, June 18th from 4-8 pm, with a 7:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Mr. Zwolinski will lie in state on Monday, 10:00am at St. Faustina Catholic Church (formerly St. Edmund) until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. His entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Please share memories of Mr. Zwolinski at his memory book above.
